Call for Papers: Bereavement Care Journal on Complicated Grief and Prolonged Grief Disorder

Bereavement Care Journal Call for Papers Complicated Grief and Prolonged Grief Disorder

The recent fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) includes the condition 'Persistent Complex Bereavement-Related Disorder' and suggests that this needs further study in order to be included as a possible bereavement disorder - one form of complicated grief.

As part of the debate, Bereavement Care invites contributions to a special issue on Complicated Grief and Prolonged Grief Disorder.
Examples of topics that will be considered include, but are not limited to:

- Identifying complicated grief and those at risk of complicated grief.
- The psychological basis of complicated grief.
- Prevention of complicated grief.
- Treatment of complicated grief - theory, practice and evaluation.
- The impact of the DSM-5 changes.
- Complicated grief in different populations: children; parents; different cultures; prisoners etc.
- Complicated or prolonged grief and its relation to other disorders, eg posttraumatic stress disorder; depressive disorders.

The deadline for submissions is 1 May 2014. It is envisaged the special edition will be published in late 2014 or early 2015.

Bereavement Care is an international journal for all who care for the bereaved. It is published by Taylor and Francis in association with the UK national voluntary organisation Cruse Bereavement Care.

Bereavement Care invites reports of research, innovations in practice and theory, personal experiences or case reports that add something new to our understanding of bereavement and pre-bereavement.

Bereavement Care sets a high academic standard while remaining accessible to non-academics and non-scientists. Our readers include both volunteers and professionals, from many parts of the world, who work to help bereaved people of all races and creeds.
