Adriana Teodorescu, Romania
Adriana Teodorescu is Ph.D. Lecturer in the Department of Social Work, at Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
She received a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in 2011,
and a second Ph.D. in Sociology in 2020. She was co-organizer of the annual International Conference Dying and Death in 18th-21st Century Europe, Romania, 2010-2019.
Editor of “Death within the Text: Social, Philosophical and Aesthetic Approaches to Literature” (2019) and “Death Representations in Literature. Forms and Theories” (2015), Cambridge Scholars Publishing. Co-editor, with Michael Hviid Jacobsen, of “Death in Contemporary Popular Culture” (Routledge, 2020) and co-editor, with Dan Chiribucă, of “Shaping Ageing. Social Transformations and Enduring Meanings” (Routledge, 2022).
Her research interests include death studies, social gerontology, narrative gerontology, cultural studies, sociology of communication.
