Argyro Marinopoulou is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
She studied Theology at NKUA and holds three Master’s degrees: in Philosophy (Ethics, NKUA), Bioethics (Open University of Cyprus), and Theology (Hellenic Open University).Â
Argyro is a research fellow at the Applied Philosophy Research Laboratory (NKUA) and a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC–The Thanatology Association).Â
Her research investigates how AI reconfigures concepts of death, personhood, memory, and mourning in contemporary culture. Drawing from both philosophical and theological frameworks, she examines how AI systems — including griefbots, digital avatars, and memory-based chatbots — mediate the boundary between the living and the deceased.Â
