Katie Taylor – Website
Katie Taylor is a PhD researcher and fine artist whose work explores identity-based violence and mass atrocity specifically focusing on individuality within unidentified human remains after atrocity.
Her work aims to reach new audiences through art, opening up a space for conversation and debate that may not be readily taken up in a different context.
She has shown work in spaces beyond the gallery environment, such as Further Education colleges to engage younger / different audiences to engage with histories not taught in UK schools such as the Bosnian and Rwandan Genocides.
I have published a paper with the Taylor and Francis Journal Textiles: Cloth and Culture – Textiles and the Acknowledgement of Unidentified Dead and have had an abstract accepted for the 1st International Contemporary Material Art Symposium in China.
